Find Out If You're Starting
With A Solid Business Idea

Let me start off by sharing with you the characteristics that define a business idea that involves both doing work you love and enjoying an attractive income potential.

What Is A Great Business Idea?

It can be defined as a business concept...

  • That is centered around work you really enjoy doing...and are good at doing.

  • That offers a genuine solution to someone's problem or a satisfaction of someone's want.

  • That involves doing work for which you can define the "3 keys to success"... and are very capable at doing them.

    EG. Being a speaker and coach demands at least three "keys to success" - (1) Being comfortable speaking in front of all kinds of crowds;
    (2) Showing up on time and well prepared for presentations; (3) Being good at quick and accurate research on new topics and able to turn information into an interesting presentation.

  • For which you know the approximate start-up costs and are prepared to invest sufficient money to start and run the business.

  • That upon research seems to offer an attractive financial return.

  • That you can start and run by yourself or with one very carefully selected partner.

  • That is the style of work where you will enjoy the type of customer you're likely to attact.

Business Idea Assessment Worksheet

I suggest that you print off this complete page and use the worksheet below to write in your answers to the series of evaluation questions asked.

There is no "perfect score" - it's more a matter of you being honest with yourself about how much you've really thought about your proposed business idea and how well it fits both your desired workstyle and your personal income goal.
